He has owned and worked with reptiles his entire life, starting as a young boy, fascinated with dinosaurs.  He was invited to his first school to give a reptile presentation by a teacher friend.  He has since educated and entertained groups of all kinds at all levels of schools, daycares, preschools and Universities.

Jim and his group of reptiles have appeared on The Oprah Show, Animal Planet, The Tonight Show, HGTV, Regis & Kelly and The Today Show.  Locally, they have appeared on Eric & Kathy, 190 North, Don & Roma, Wild Chicago and Early Edition. Jim has also guest lectured at The Shedd Aquarium, Lincoln Park Zoo, The Field Museum and The Academy of Sciences.

Jim also performs for Scouting events, Birthday parties, Block parties, Company picnics, banquets and Christmas parties. He has performed at many Corporate events, Park Districts and Libraries all over the tri-state area.

Jim has been seen at many trade shows, such as America’s Outdoor Show and The North American Reptile Breeders Conference.

He has performed with Jim Fowler, animal expert from “Wild Kingdom”, at “Friends for Conservation” and The Today Show.

Jim Nesci has worked most famously with Steve Irwin, The Crocodile Hunter from Australia.  They first worked together and met at The Oprah Show in Chicago.  Jim was then invited to Los Angeles to work at the premiere of Steve’s movie, “Croc Hunter, Collision Course”.  Jim and Bubba stood at the entrance of the theatre to greet the guests as they arrived. They also did the Tonight Show and later, the Regis and Kelly show, with Steve as the guest host, showing off Bubba to Kelly Ripa.  Steve had great confidence in Jim’s professionalism.
He was very impressed with Jim’s cutting edge work with crocodilian behavior.
Steve always called Jim “Bubba’s Dad”.
